The Morehead Inn, located in the historic Dilworth district, is a 1917 colonial revival home that was originally designed by William Peeps for Charles Campbell Coddington, an automobile distributor, and his wife. Over the years, it has become one of the city’s most renowned hospitality destinations. Despite enduring various storms, including Hurricane Hugo in 1989, the “Old Coddington House” remained intact. In 1980, it was purchased and transformed into the Morehead Inn, a bed and breakfast that opened its doors in 1984.
